WHAT AN EVENT WE HAD SUNDAY !!

A massive thank you to everyone for coming out to our Annual 129 on 29 For No Reason ride this past Sunday. We put a lot of effort into creating a great environment for those on the big adventure. It was incredibly special to see so many tackling the biggest ride of their lifetimes in a group setting, tackling the distance together. It really sucks to see an accident happen on one of our own rides. Our sport is inherently dangerous, accidents happen, but we are doing our best to ensure the safety of everyone on all rides we host.

Just almost 145 miles total for me on the day served as a fantastic effort as my training has shifted to the big gravel events this fall.

The early weekdays were spent in the mountains, clocking a lot of tempo time on the gaps. I’m so grateful for the slice of heaven we have up there and lots of hard training is made so easy through the terrain. Wednesday and Thursday were bigger days, riding all the climbs at a high tempo and spending as much time in the upper Zone 3 as possible. For gravel racing, this is the sweet spot as in racing we never let off the gas. The entire focus in this next month of training is muscular endurance at high load. Hard efforts and lots of repeatability.

It’s taken some a bit of extra time to recover from such a big weekend, but I’m back into it, beginning this week with more strength work before another weekend of some more volume. I’m so excited with the progress and beyond fired up to put in some big results this fall.

Looking forward to more great rides with this community soon.
