DON PAN

I’m back in Atlanta now after an absolutely superb long weekend in Miami. I’ve ridden bikes all over the world and never experienced such a rich, enthusiastic, close knit and all around positive culture around cycling.

As noted earlier I had delays on my connection from Austin through Atlanta, arriving in Miami around 1AM Friday morning (ouch). I built my bike, shaved my legs, and got to bed by 2:30 for a 6AM departure on the bike.

The infamous Don Pan did not disappoint. A short and extra fast single loop on Key Biscayne Friday followed by a longer 3 loop day on Saturday. I was informed that I took home the group ride “win” on both days, as well as some power records (thanks uninterrupted flat roads) was a nice boost for the early season confidence.

Friday afternoon was spent at Ziel Concept Store podcasting and photographing. Saturday was a bonus miles day and Sunday morning we spent cheering for Nikki as she took on the Miami half. I’m extremely proud of her performance and all out grit. That afternoon was for indulging in the city and a few aperol spritz. I’m beyond thankful to NICH and those at Ziel for the warm introduction to such a special place.

I’m heading up to the mountains this weekend for some training and as noted +SpeedClub is providing two options for Atlanta area rides. Really excited to be back in some of the best training grounds in the world. See you in the Gaps.
