New Bike Day
A fantastic week of big work is behind me. The early week was spent in Atlanta, catching up on some rest and recovery after our full gas Miami trip.
I got my new Fourstroke out on the trails at Southside Park Wednesday morning. Southside is an easy 45 minute ride from Decatur and carries plenty of technicality to push yourself to the limits. The new XC bike from BMC is something remarkable, the fastest XC bike I’ve ever ridden.
An extended weekend was spent in the gaps with ex Hagens Berman teammate/Girona housemate/close friend Cooper Johnson. Showing friends around the little slice of heaven we have up North is always special.
The winter training is going more than great, setting all time power records and coming close to a few KOMS throughout the weekend. For the number geeks out there 20 minutes at 450 watts as I hauled my way up Neel chasing the 9:30 SpeedClub start time (an all time best). Travel and training in new places this winter has kept the childlike wonder and excitement flowing.
Working hard while not spending every moment of every day stressed about where the level is. It's January and I’m doing the best numbers of my life. The air is dense, I'm layered in winter kit and I'm coming mighty close to Strava Koms set years ago.
Things are getting exciting.
Happy Training.
